Wool doesn’t need to be washed after every wear. The fibers naturally have a protective layer that repels dirt and dust. Simply air out the garment to refresh it.
Avoid using the washing machine and dryer, as this can damage the fibers and cause shrinkage and deformation. It can also worsen pilling. However, pilling is a natural characteristic of wool and part of the nature of the product.
Want to wash a wool item? Do so cold, by hand, and inside out. Do not use fabric softener, as it coats the fibers and reduces their breathability. Remove excess water from heavier garments without wringing.
Steaming is a great alternative to washing. It is especially suitable for wool, as it refreshes, removes odors, and softens wrinkles without damaging the fibers. Preferably use a handheld steamer on a low setting (60–80°C) and keep some distance (3–5 cm). Do not press directly on the fabric—wool can develop shine or deform with too much heat. With our Handheld Steamer (Cirrus X), wrinkles disappear in no time and your clothing feels fresh again!
Always dry wool flat on a towel so that excess water is absorbed and the garment retains its shape. Store folded in drawers with mothballs. Use a wool comb to maintain softness and prevent pilling. To reduce pilling, you can also use a fabric shaver.
