Circularity
In the Netherlands, the law on extended producer responsibility (ERP, Dutch: UPV) makes manufacturers responsible for the entire life cycle of a garment - from production to disposal. At JOSH V, we embrace this responsibility by using recycled materials wherever possible.
Our main goal is to avoid the disposal of our garments as much as possible. After all, the most sustainable garment is the one you love and wear for years to come.
Today
We partner with Stichting UPV Collectief to establish a nation-wide collection, processing, and recycling system together with other industry partners.
We inspire our customers to donate garments in ReShare containers and make it easy for them by providing a donation container at our sample sales.
We increasingly use recycled materials in our clothing, labels, and packaging.
Tomorrow
Our garments will last even longer as we explore ways to increase their recyclability.
We will fully comply with the UPV (ERP) law by meeting its ambitious reuse and recycling targets:
By 2025: At least 50% of discarded clothing in the Netherlands will be reused or recycled
By 2030: At least 75% of discarded clothing will be reused or recycled
By 2050: 100% of discarded clothing will be reused or recycled
