How we produce today. Towards a fair and transparent supply chain.

Beauty should never come at the expense of the well-being of others. That’s why we make sure that everyone in our supply chain is treated with dignity. From our Code of Conduct with suppliers to partnerships with amfori BSCI and tex.tracer, we are building a transparent and responsible supply chain.

Code of Conduct

Since 2022, all our suppliers must comply with our Code of Conduct. This agreement is based on the principles of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. The code sets clear standards for ethical business practices, including fair wages, safe working conditions, a ban on discrimination and child labor.

We have not only drawn up a document, but also make sure everyone lives up to it. Through regular audits and together with amfori BSCI, we check whether our production facilities comply with our principles. If we see that improvements are necessary, we work with our suppliers to implement them.

Working conditions

Fair and safe working conditions are non-negotiable. That’s why we’ve joined the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), an initiative that improves labor conditions in high-risk countries*. Every two years, independent audits verify compliance with our shared standards, from fair wages to workplace safety.

* countries where workers often face challenges related to labor rights, such as poor working conditions, lack of enforcement of labor laws and limited access to fair wages

Today

  • We are a proud member of amfori BSCI since 2021

  • As of 2023, we only work with Tier 1 production locations that are monitored by amfori BSCI, or comparable organizations, ensuring social conditions are actively monitored.

Tomorrow

  • By 2025, we improve transparency in our Tier 2 supply chain and begin monitoring key fabric suppliers on fair and safe working conditions.

Supply chain transparency

We don’t own factories, but work closely with suppliers to ensure transparency and accountability. In 2021, we mapped all our Tier 1 production locations, and in 2024, we began mapping Tier 2 and 3 fabric suppliers using tex.tracer.

tex.tracer

We partnered with tex.tracer to create a fully transparent supply chain. Using blockchain technology, tex.tracer provides verifiable data on sourcing, production, and sustainability efforts. Being able to see exactly where and how garments are made, creates trust. It also makes it easier for consumers to make well informed choices.

Today

  • We produce in both Asia and Europe, with European production subject to strict oversight. While European production reduces environmental and social risks, we’re mindful of the transport distances for raw materials.

Tomorrow

  • By 2025, we have mapped 100% of our Tier 2 and 3 of our production chain.

  • By 2026, we have mapped 100% of our Tier 4 of our production chain.

Chemicals

Harmful chemicals have no place in your wardrobe. That’s why we maintain a Restricted Substances List (RSL) and adhere to the strict AFIRM Group. Since 2023, we are testing our final products for chemical residues. The results are then shared with suppliers to help them improve in case necessary.

Data-driven purchasing

The better we understand our customers’ needs, the less we overproduce. By analyzing market research, sales data, and returns, we have managed to match supply and demand quite closely. Since 2024, we’re partnering with Returnless to access even more data to lower our returns.

Leftover stock

Our aim is to not overproduce anything. But in our business there can and will occasionally be surplus products. We take our responsibility seriously and make sure that every unsold item is handled with care and given a new purpose. We have full control over what happens to our stock, making sure it is never destroyed or exported abroad without a clear purpose or destination.

JOSH V pieces are made to be loved and worn by you. We hold sample sales twice a year and regular seasonal sales to make sure as many as possible find a loving owner. After these sales, surplus items get one last shot at Otrium. We also donate a large portion to ReShare Stores and the LINDA Foundation. Organizations that we know and trust to use the garments for a good cause.
